Barbara Justice is a visual artist and an arts educator. Her research and studio practice revolve around photographic arts with strong interest in areas of handmade books, printmaking, historical and experimental photographic techniques, collage, creative writing, and community-based art projects.
Barbara teaches visual art at various levels. She is the Photography Instructor at Madison West High School. In 2026 she is leading a Coptic Binding book workshop at Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft in Columbia, North Carolina and Peters Valley School of Craft in New Jersey. Justice's teaching record includes Madison College, Santa Reparata International School of Art in Italy, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Peters Valley School of Craft, and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. Her artwork is exhibited regionally, nationally, and globally. She is a member of Society for Photographic Education, CBAA The Association of Book Arts Education, Southern Graphics Council International, Film Shooters Collective, and National Education Association. Barbara is from Southern New Mexico and far west Texas. She received her MFA from University of Wisconsin-Madison where she was the recipient of the Interdisciplinary Artist Research Cohort Fellowship and her BFA from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
