Being In Two Places At Once

Being In Two Places At Once combines photographs from two different places into one image. These came about from the longing of home in New Mexico and living in a new home in Wisconsin. Using a medium format camera, rolls of film were first exposed in Wisconsin over a period of time then re-wound and saved for a 1500 mile journey to New Mexico where they were re-exposed and then back again to Wisconsin for developing, thus traveling nearly three thousand miles. The images reveal a resemblance of two completely different geographical locations, but also similarities. I ask the viewer to examine two places at once and to consider what it may be like to have a visual record of the environments we live in, in comparison to the places we long for.
